President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed have embarked on a State Visit to Singapore, taking place from June 29 to July, at the invitation of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore.

During the visit, President Dr Muizzu is scheduled to hold high-level meetings with President Shanmugaratnam, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and other senior officials to explore avenues for deepening bilateral cooperation.

The trip will feature the signing of several memoranda of understanding across key sectors, as well as a business forum bringing together Maldivian and Singaporean business leaders. President Dr Muizzu is also expected to meet with members of the Maldivian community residing in Singapore.

Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Singapore were formally established on February 20, 1975. The visit is seen as an important step in advancing longstanding ties and fostering greater collaboration between the two countries.
