Dr Salma Rasheed, the newly appointed Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to Switzerland, has presented her Letter of Credence to Karin Keller-Sutter, President of the Swiss Confederation, at a ceremony held on Wednesday at the Federal Palace.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Dr Salma conveyed greetings from President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and the people of the Maldives to the President and people of Switzerland. She also expressed her commitment to working closely with the Swiss Government to further enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation during her tenure.

In response, President Karin Keller-Sutter congratulated Ambassador Dr Salma on her appointment and affirmed Switzerland’s support for strengthening relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Dr Salma was accompanied by Adam Hamid, Counsellor at the Permanent Mission of the Maldives to the United Nations and other International Organisations in Geneva.

Her appointment as Non-Resident Ambassador to Switzerland was approved by Parliament in February. She also serves as the Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations Office in Geneva.
