10 Officers complete Maldives led forensic diving course

A group of ten police officers from four countries have successfully completed an intensive 40-day forensic diving course conducted by the National College of Policing and Law Enforcement (NCPLE).
The training programme, focused on developing underwater investigative capabilities and included certification in Open Water Diving, Advanced Open Water Diving, Emergency First Response (EFR) Rescue Diving, and specialised forensic diving techniques. Participants included five officers from the Maldives Police Service and five international officers from Saudi Arabia, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka.
The course was conducted by three instructors with the support of a dedicated security supervisor. It aimed to enhance operational readiness for underwater crime scene investigations and evidence recovery.
A closing ceremony was held at NCPLE Dh. Vaanee campus, where Commissioner of Police Ismail Naveen awarded certificates and diving badges to the participants. Senior police officials, including Deputy Commissioner Farhad Fikury, Assistant Commissioner Ahmed Abdul Rahman, and Chief Inspector Saeed Abdul Hakeem, were also present and handed out tokens of appreciation to instructors and facilitators.
Commissioner Naveen congratulated the graduates and emphasised the importance of building specialised policing skills such as forensic diving to strengthen the Maldives’ law enforcement capacity.
