The latest session of the Government’s public engagement initiative, the Ahaa Forum, is scheduled to take place on July 14. The forum, organised in collaboration with the President’s Office, aims to promote transparency and direct dialogue between public and Government officials.
The upcoming forum will feature four cabinet ministers: Minister of Finance and Planning Moosa Zameer, Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Dr Abdulla Muththalib, Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim, and Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts Ibrahim Waheed. This marks the fifth instalment of the Ahaa series, which provides a platform for ministers to outline key Government initiatives and respond to public inquiries.
The two-hour session invites members of the public to participate actively by submitting questions in advance or during the live broadcast. Submissions can be made in person, via phone calls, through social media platforms, or by SMS. Questions sent via SMS should be addressed to 300, beginning with “AH” followed by a space and the question.
The Ahaa Forum, first launched on January 25, 2024, forms part of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s commitment to enhance public engagement and public sector transparency. It operates alongside several other Government-led communication channels, including the Rayyithunaa Eku podcast, the Raees ge Javaabu video response series, and the Rayyithunge Adu online submission portal, all of which aim to foster inclusive governance and improve access to information.
