The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) held a rally to celebrate the upcoming opening of the new terminal at Velana International Airport (VIA).

The rally, which began at the MACL head office, made stops at four key locations to raise awareness about the new terminal. These included Central Park and the ferry terminal in Hulhumalé, as well as public parks in Hulhumalé Phase II.

At each location, information about the new terminal was shared alongside cultural performances, and gifts were distributed to children. The event also featured mascots, offering children the opportunity to take photos with them.

MACL is organising a series of activities to mark the opening of the new terminal at Velana International Airport, while also ensuring full operational readiness ahead of the launch.

The new terminal is scheduled to open on July 26, in celebration of the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day.
