Government releases MVR 6.5 million in medical aid for treatment at private hospitals

The Government has disbursed a total of MVR 6.5 million through the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) to assist patients who underwent treatment at two of the country’s leading private hospitals, ADK and Treetop Hospital, during the month of June.
According to data released by the agency, Treetop Hospital received MVR 3.3 million in aid, which was distributed across 281 individual cases. ADK Hospital, in turn, was allocated MVR 3.2 million, supporting 187 patients.
A more detailed breakdown of the allocation to ADK Hospital indicates that MVR 802,481.30 was designated for 24 cases involving bone diseases. Cardiovascular conditions accounted for 13 cases, for which MVR 455,297.35 was provided. Furthermore, MVR 334,520 was disbursed for 12 cases concerning the spine and nervous system.
Support for respiratory illnesses formed a substantial portion of the aid directed to ADK, with MVR 3,176,860 allocated to 21 such cases. The hospital also received MVR 283,824 to address five endocrine cases, while MVR 282,968 was disbursed to cover 35 cases related to childbirth.
At Treetop Hospital, the financial assistance covered a similarly diverse range of medical needs. A total of MVR 816,326 was released for 37 bone disease cases. Paediatric patients were supported with MVR 506,275.14 spread across 20 cases, while MVR 333,640.83 was allocated to address 61 cases concerning childbirth.
Additional support at Treetop included MVR 242,899 for 27 cases of ENT-related illnesses. Respiratory conditions accounted for 29 cases and were allocated MVR 185,858, whereas eight cases involving heart disease received MVR 171,928 in aid.
NSPA further indicated that individuals whose medical expenses are not fully covered under Aasandha may seek additional support through the agency.
