President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for the United Kingdom on Tuesday evening to take part in a series of high-level meetings and engagements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries.

Accompanied by a senior delegation, President Dr Muizzu is scheduled to engage in discussions focused on key areas such as governance, climate and environmental issues, trade, investment, and education.

As part of his visit, the President will also participate in a business forum in London, highlighting opportunities for investment and economic collaboration.

The visit is expected to reinforce the historic and long-standing diplomatic relationship between the Maldives and the United Kingdom, built on a foundation of mutual respect and trust.

The Maldives and the UK are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties this year, which were first established on July 26, 1965.
