Abdul Rahman’s body to be sent to India for post-mortem on Monday

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has confirmed that the body of Abdul Rahman Adam will be sent to India for a post-mortem examination on Monday.

Abdul Rahman, 65, was discovered with critical injuries around 1:50 a.m. on July 13, in Alif Alif Maalhos. He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

The Maldives Police Service has stated that a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of Abdul Rahman Adam's death and to gather necessary evidence for the investigation. His body, which was brought to Malé on July 13, will be sent to Trivandrum, India, for post-mortem examination on July 21.

Regarding the case, the Maldives Police Service has deployed a specialised investigative team to Alif Alif Maalhos. Authorities stated that the team is actively investigating the incident and closely monitoring all individuals entering and leaving the island as part of their ongoing efforts.

Sources close to the matter revealed that Abdul Rahman was attacked while he was asleep at home. At the time of the incident, he was living with his wife, and the two were reportedly sleeping in separate rooms. Eyewitnesses described the assault as extremely violent, noting that he sustained serious head injuries resulting in severe trauma.
