President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with King Charles III in a private audience at Windsor Castle on July 17, during his visit to the United Kingdom.

During the engagement, the President and the King discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and reaffirm longstanding ties between the two countries. The audience underscores the enduring significance of the Maldives–UK relationship, which has spanned six decades since the establishment of formal diplomatic ties in 1965.

While the specifics of the discussion were not disclosed, the meeting is seen as part of the Maldives’  efforts to deepen diplomatic engagement and strengthen partnerships with key Commonwealth allies.
