Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is reinforcing its role in advancing social inclusion by deepening its support for children with autism and their families. This commitment was highlighted during the opening of the “Art of Mind” 2025 exhibition, organised by the Maldives Autism Association to showcase the creative talents of children with autism.

MACL’s partnership with the Autism Association, active since 2010, reflects the company’s efforts to foster inclusion and support vulnerable groups within Maldivian society. Beyond sponsoring events, MACL has provided employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and integrated autism awareness into its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

The annual “Art of Mind” exhibition offers a platform for children with autism to express themselves through art, helping to challenge social stigma and increase public awareness. Selected artworks from the 2023 exhibition were featured in MACL’s 2024 calendar, underlining the company’s dedication to encouraging creative development and recognition of autistic artists.

MACL’s commitment forms part of a growing trend among Maldivian organisations to engage actively with social causes, reflecting a broader societal shift towards inclusivity. The company’s CEO, Ibrahim Shareef Mohammed, has praised advocates working in this field, recognising their vital contribution to enhancing support services for children with autism.
