The Maldives Police Service has arrested a police officer and a man for possession of drugs, with both testing positive for drug use.

In an operation conducted in Malé following a tip-off to Police Intelligence, two individuals were arrested: Aishath Shiyaza, 31, of Dhilbahaaruge, Alif Dhaalu Kunburudhoo, and Saifullah Ahmed, 26, of Hazaarumaage, Haa Alif Dhidhdhoo. 

Aishath Shiyaza, a police officer, has been suspended in connection with the case.

According to the police, both individuals were found in possession of drugs at the time of their arrest and tested positive for drug use. They were apprehended near the Viyafaariveringe Mosque.

In connection with the case, Aishath Shiyaza has been remanded in police custody for five days, while Saifullah Ahmed has been remanded for ten days.
