The State Trading Organization (STO) has opened a new pharmacy near Hulhumalé Hospital in Phase 1, to improve public access to essential healthcare services.

Named STO Pharmacy Central, the outlet is located at the former site of the STO Smart Store, a move first announced by Managing Director Shimad Ibrahim during the company’s 2024 Annual General Meeting. The new pharmacy adds to STO’s existing healthcare facilities in the area and aims to ease access to medications and medical supplies for residents.

In addition to prescription drugs, the pharmacy will offer a variety of medical consumables, cosmetics, and nebulisers. Customers can make payments via cash, card, and insurance schemes including Aasandha.

The pharmacy is open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., and according to STO, reflects the company’s continued commitment to providing essential services to communities across the Maldives.
