The Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been contracted to carry out the second phase of major road development in Haa Alifu Filladhoo by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure.

Valued at MVR 77.1 million, the project will upgrade the island’s main roads to modern standards, including improved drainage systems and durable surfacing. The works are scheduled for completion within 730 days.

The agreement was signed on 10 August 2025, with State Minister for Construction, Housing and Infrastructure Hassan Rasheed representing the ministry, and Managing Director Ibrahim Nazeem signing on behalf of RDC.

The Government stated that the project reflects its commitment to improving essential infrastructure and ensuring consistent development across all regions.
