President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured swift action on the development priorities for Baa Kudarikilu.

During his visit to the island, he explained that earlier obstacles affecting development projects across the islands had now been resolved, creating the conditions for their implementation. He said that work on the water and sewerage project had already begun this month and was expected to be completed within six months. Once the water supply is operational, the Road Development Corporation would commence road construction without delay.

Turning to the education sector, the President spoke of the need to resume halted works at the island’s school. This will include the development of a multi-purpose hall to support educational activities. He also highlighted healthcare improvements as a priority, with measures being taken to upgrade the health centre to provide enhanced medical services for residents.

He further confirmed that a mosque will be built once the council allocates the necessary land. In addition, plans have been announced for sports and recreation facilities, including a football ground, a fitness and recreation centre, and a handball court.

Concluding his address, the President said all development works would be closely monitored and completed in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kudarikilu.
