Two key projects have been launched in Baa Kudarikilu, with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurating a Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM and Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim breaking ground for a new health centre building as part of the President’s ongoing tour of the atoll.

The MVR 7.64 million health centre project, contracted to Fenaka Corporation, is scheduled for completion within a year. The Government said the new facility will enhance healthcare services on the island, in line with its wider programme to upgrade medical infrastructure and resources nationwide.

The newly established self-service ATM in Kudarikilu is the 39th to be installed under a joint initiative between the Government and BML to provide ATM facilities on all inhabited islands. President Dr Muizzu activated the service by making the first transaction, before handing over a commemorative bank card to Island Council President Abdul Hannan Abbas.

The ATM will offer round-the-clock access to banking services, including cash withdrawals, deposits, bill payments, transfers, and loan and credit card repayments. The Administration has pledged to install 100 new ATMs this year, bringing the total nationwide to over 250.
