The National Centre for Information Technology (NCIT) has resumed the online face verification service of the National Digital Identity, eFaas, following a temporary suspension to facilitate a change in the service provider.

NCIT has shifted from Sum and Substance Pvt Ltd (SAMSAB) to Regular Forensics, a Latvian-based company with extensive experience in digital security, to power the online face verification process. The updated service is now accessible via the eFaas web platform, compatible with all major browsers.

The agency has assured the public that no personal information will be shared with external parties, prioritizing user privacy and security.

State Minister for Homeland Security and Technology, Dr Mohamed Kinaanath, expressed NCIT's commitment to strengthening the eFaas system and expanding digital services in the Maldives. The online verification process aims to simplify access to government digital services and reduce the risk of identity fraud.
