Chinese Ambassador pays farewell visit to Vice President

The Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Maldives, Wang Lixin, paid a farewell visit to Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Monday at the President’s Office.

The meeting marked the conclusion of Ambassador Wang’s tenure, during which she was recognised for her efforts in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

The Vice President expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Wang’s dedication and highlighted her significant contributions to enhancing Maldives-China relations. He also extended gratitude to the Chinese Government for its consistent support and assistance across various sectors in the Maldives.

In response, the Ambassador conveyed her gratitude to President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and his Administration for their unwavering support during her tenure. She commended the Maldivian Government's resilience and its remarkable progress and achievements over the past year.

The meeting also reflected on the success of Maldives-China collaborations in key areas such as education, higher education, infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism. Both parties emphasised the importance of these partnerships in advancing mutual development goals.

The discussion concluded on a positive note, with the Vice President and Ambassador Wang expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of relations between the Maldives and China in the years ahead.
