The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has donated MVR 300,000 (USD 19,455.25) to the Palestinian Football Association, raised through the sale of souvenir tickets for two friendly matches played between the under-17 Palestinian and Maldivian teams.

The Maldivian team faced the Palestinian national squad in two friendlies, losing 6–0 in the first match and 3–0 in the second. Although entry to the matches was free, FAM introduced paid souvenir tickets to help raise funds for Palestinian football, offering two special categories for supporters wishing to contribute.

Under the initiative, Platinum tickets were priced at MVR 1,000, with fifty tickets available for purchase offering access to VIP and rostrum seating. A further 200 Gold-category tickets, priced at MVR 500, allowed spectators to watch from designated areas near the main stand. The tickets were promoted as symbolic contributions, with all proceeds pledged to support Palestine’s football recovery efforts.

Senior state officials, including President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, purchased souvenir tickets, alongside State-owned enterprises, private businesses, banks, and first division clubs, demonstrating widespread national support for the cause.

The Government and FAM also funded all accommodation and meal expenses for the Palestinian team during their stay in the Maldives.
