NSPA clarifies Aasandha coverage amid misinformation concerns

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has assured that Aasandha coverage remains available in all cases where individuals would otherwise need to pay out-of-pocket for medical expenses. This comes as part of ongoing government reforms to prioritise private insurance in billing outpatient services, aiming to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the Aasandha scheme.
Responding to misinformation circulating on the topic, NSPA emphasised that individuals who do not receive private insurance coverage for medical services are still eligible for Aasandha benefits. In a statement, the agency confirmed that if private insurers discontinue cashless payments, Aasandha coverage will still apply to all cases where payments would otherwise come from personal funds.
The NSPA urged the public to verify information and seek reliable updates directly from official sources to prevent misunderstandings about Aasandha coverage. For any questions, individuals are encouraged to contact Aasandha Company Limited's hotline at 1400.
