President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced several key developments for Maafannu Madharusaa, including a new accessible hall and enhanced special needs education programmes, whilst calling for nurturing a generation steadfast in Islamic faith and patriotic values. The announcements came during the school's 40th anniversary celebration held Saturday evening.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President responded to students' requests by detailing plans for a ground-floor hall to be completed by 2025, ensuring easier access for elderly visitors to the school community.

He further pledged that his Administration would strengthen special needs education through expanded teacher training programmes in the coming year, whilst assuring continued support through collaboration with the Malé City Council, which oversees the institution.

Highlighting the ceremony's significance, President Dr Muizzu expressed optimism about the nation's future, particularly noting that the student proposals presented at the event were a testament to this promising outlook. He emphasised the importance of uniting to raise a generation unwavering in its Islamic values, commitment to nationhood, and responsibility as Maldivians.

The evening also saw the recognition of long-serving staff members, who received service plaques celebrating their contributions to the institution's development.

Maafannu Madharusaa, established on February 15, 1984, has undergone significant transformation over four decades. Initially serving students from nursery through to grade six and later expanding to grade 10, the institution now focuses exclusively on nursery and preschool education.
