State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has completed the provision of electricity connections to all 4,000 flats developed by Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) in Hulhumalé Phase II, marking a key milestone in the housing project.
STELCO confirmed that all technical works required to supply electricity to the flats have now been finalised. This includes the installation of cables, connection of main panels, and completion of all related electrical infrastructure within the residential towers.
In parallel, Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has completed water supply and sewerage systems for all towers under the FDC housing project, ensuring the availability of essential utilities for residents.
The development comprises a total of 4,000 housing units, including 2,800 three-bedroom flats and 1,200 two-bedroom flats. According to authorities, the provision of basic services such as electricity and water was not included in the original construction contract when the project was awarded.
At the time of the change of Government, approximately 30 per cent of the utility-related works had been completed, with the remaining 70 per cent carried out under the current Administration. In addition to electricity and water connections, landscaping works in the surrounding areas were also completed as part of the project.
FDC stated that with the completion of construction and the establishment of basic services, the company is now proceeding with the handover of flat keys to residents. The corporation aims to complete the handover process by the end of January.
