President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Maalhos Island Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) on Sunday evening to discuss the island’s development priorities. The meeting was held at the Maalhos Island Council Secretariat.

The Council leaders highlighted several pressing concerns, including the challenges in boosting local tourism, which they noted required Government support. They also proposed the construction of a multipurpose hall for the island school and requested recreational facilities for youth football.

Additional developmental needs were also presented to the President, reflecting the community's aspirations for a more robust infrastructure and improved opportunities.

President Dr Muizzu assured the council of his dedication to tackling these issues, pledging to fast-track the school project and prioritise other critical areas of concern.

Cabinet ministers who joined the meeting provided updates on ongoing and planned initiatives aimed at uplifting the island's infrastructure and addressing its unique challenges.
