President commits to addressing Bodufolhudhoo’s vital development needs

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Bodufolhudhoo Island Council on Sunday evening to discuss the most pressing challenges faced by the island community.

The meeting took place at the Mathiveri Island Council Secretariat, providing an opportunity for local representatives to voice their concerns directly to the President.

During the discussions, the Council highlighted a significant housing shortage affecting the island’s residents and requested urgent development of Bodufolhudhoo’s harbour to improve accessibility and economic opportunities.

They also underscored the importance of addressing behavioural challenges among students through collaboration between educators and relevant authorities.

President Dr Muizzu assured the Council that their concerns would be prioritised. He emphasised that housing projects would feature prominently in next year’s budget, reflecting the Government’s commitment to tackling this critical issue.

Cabinet ministers accompanying the President provided updates on ongoing and planned development projects for the island. They reiterated the Government’s dedication to fostering infrastructure improvements and ensuring the well-being of Bodufolhudhoo’s residents.
