Visit Maldives has invited tourism industry stakeholders to express interest in participating in a series of additional international travel trade fairs scheduled for 2026, in efforts to strengthen market outreach and support the sector.
The initiative comes as authorities continue to monitor developments in the Middle East and assess potential impacts on the Maldives’ tourism industry. Visit Maldives said the move forms part of efforts to diversify markets and maintain destination visibility amid changing global travel patterns.
According to the corporation, the expanded participation will focus on key markets across Asia, Europe and other regions, with planned events including trade fairs in countries such as China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Turkey and Italy. Engagement in these events is aimed at creating opportunities for Maldivian tourism operators to connect with international partners and promote the destination.
Visit Maldives has requested interested stakeholders to review the proposed list of events and indicate participation, noting that the additional fairs are intended to complement ongoing marketing activities and strengthen the Maldives’ presence in global tourism markets.
The corporation stated that it will continue working with industry partners to support the sector and enhance resilience, as efforts continue to sustain growth in tourist arrivals under evolving global conditions
