Fuvahmulah has been named the "Best Shark Diving Destination" at the 2024 Diving Resort & Travel Show in Hong Kong, recognising the island’s exceptional offerings in thrilling and sustainable shark diving.

This prestigious award recognises Fuvahmulah’s emerging reputation as a notable diving destination, known for its distinctive underwater ecosystem and diverse marine life, including the rare tiger shark

The award reflects the island's natural beauty and the efforts of the local community in promoting responsible shark diving.

The Fuvahmulah City Council thanked the dive centres, guest houses, and the wider tourism sector for their contributions, which have helped raise the island's profile in the diving community.

The City Council is collaborating with local businesses such as Drop Dive Maldives, Fuvahmulah Central Dive Center, Fuvahmulah Scuba Dive, Ataraxis Grand & Spa, and Fuvahmulah Tiger Shark Retreat to highlight the island's underwater experiences.
