Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has opened applications for the Vilunveri Kanbalun programme, launched in collaboration with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT).

The initiative is designed to empower women by providing practical training, with a focus on building hands-on skills. The programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to address common household electrical issues independently.

HDC noted that the programme has previously seen strong participation, with 323 individuals taking part in its 2023 edition. Building on this interest, additional training sessions have been planned for this year.

The 2026 programme is set to commence on 7 May.

Applications are open until 3 May, with registration available through HDC’s social media platforms.
