The Ufakaara training programme, a national initiative focused on improving food safety practices through structured training sessions, has concluded in the Greater Malé Area, with a closing ceremony held on Saturday evening.
The event was attended by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and marked the completion of the programme, which focuses on strengthening food safety knowledge, attitudes and practices among food handlers across the Maldives.
First Lady Sajidha presented completion certificates to 19 participants and recognised 17 facilitators with certificates for their role in the programme.
This edition brought together home-based food producers from the Greater Malé Area, providing them with practical guidance on maintaining food safety standards in their operations.
Launched in 2017, the Ufakaara programme aims to raise awareness and deliver training for local food vendors and producers on food safety and hygiene practices.
The programme is conducted across islands nationwide, extending training opportunities to communities throughout the country.
