The Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development has announced that parents can now apply for flats on behalf of persons with disabilities under the Government’s housing scheme.
According to the ministry, individuals under the age of 18 and those facing difficulties completing application forms can submit applications through a parent registered with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA). The ministry stated that applications for the scheme must be submitted between 11:00 a.m. on June 20 and 11:59 p.m. on June 15.
Authorities have also introduced concessions for applicants under the disability category as part of the Government’s housing policy.
Applicants classified under the special disability category are now permitted to submit a copy of their NSPA-issued disability card as proof of registration, following concerns over difficulties faced in completing documentation requirements.
The Housing for Families programme prioritises families without permanent housing, with preference also given to families with persons with disabilities, households caring for elderly parents and families with children under their care.
