The Maldives Police Service has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Egypt’s Ministry of Interior to strengthen cooperation in the field of internal security.
In a statement, Maldives Police Service said the agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the two institutions in areas related to internal security, including the implementation of training programmes, as well as the sharing of resources and information.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Maldives Police Service by Commissioner of Police Ahmed Mohamed.
The agreement was signed during an official visit to Egypt by the Commissioner of Police from 17 to 21 May.
Police said the visit included discussions with Egyptian officials on ways to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the area of internal security services. Discussions also focused on expanding opportunities for training and the exchange of expertise between the two sides.
