The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has urged passengers travelling during the Eid Al Adha holiday period to allow extra time for airport procedures amid an expected surge in passenger traffic at Velana International Airport (VIA).

MACL stated that a significant number of travellers are expected to use the airport during the holiday period. The company has therefore requested passengers travelling between Saturday and 31 May to pay close attention to travel timings and complete airport procedures in a timely manner.

The company also advised passengers to follow all instructions and guidance issued by their respective airlines to help ensure smooth departures and minimise delays.

In addition, MACL stated that airport staff will be deployed across the airport to assist travellers and provide support for any issues that may arise during the busy travel period.
