Member of Parliament for Inguraidhoo constituency and Parliamentary Group Leader of the People’s National Congress (PNC), Ibrahim Falah, has dismissed reports claiming that a suggestion made by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during a recent PNC Senate meeting had been rejected.
In a post shared on his X account, Falah described the reports as “completely fabricated” and rejected suggestions of divisions within the PNC Senate or party leadership involving President Dr Muizzu.
Falah stated that party members continue to place full trust and confidence in President Dr Muizzu, adding that the President consistently acts in line with the party’s constitution, established principles, and a consultative leadership approach.
Referring to the recent Senate meeting, Falah said President Dr Muizzu did not seek to push any specific decision or direct members on how matters should be resolved. Instead, Falah stated that all issues discussed during the meeting were presented for Senate members to deliberate on and decide independently.
Falah also criticised certain media outlets and individuals for what he described as the deliberate spread of false information and misinformation. He stated that some parties were attempting to influence journalists and media organisations through incentives and financial means in order to promote false narratives.
In addition, he stated that President Dr Muizzu governs through consultation and by seeking the views of the public, unlike practices seen in the country’s recent political history.
