The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) plans to add 56 vessels worth MVR 508 million to expand Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry services across all atolls in 2025. The company has highlighted that the lack of backup vessels, bad weather, and frequent repairs have hindered smooth operations. Additionally, the company is preparing to introduce bus services between Malé, Villimalé, and Gulhifalhu once the Malé-Thilamalé Bridge is completed, further enhancing its nationwide transport network.
