A national workshop has been held to finalise the Maldives National Eye Health Strategic Plan 2026–2030, bringing together eye health stakeholders, technical experts and healthcare professionals. The workshop focused on developing a comprehensive framework to guide the implementation, monitoring and improvement of eye health services in the Maldives.

The strategic plan aims to reduce preventable vision impairment and strengthen access to quality eye care services for communities across the country. The initiative will provide a roadmap for future actions and support the continued development of the national eye health sector.
