Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed has resigned from his position as Managing Director of HDC to allow for an independent investigation into allegations related to the Binveriya Scheme. Despite firmly denying the allegations and maintaining that all decisions were made in accordance with company protocols and board directives, Fazul expressed concern over how these claims have impacted both HDC's and Government initiatives. His resignation was submitted on December 21, 2024.
