Maldives Customs Service intercepted 2.4 kilograms of heroin and mephedrone being smuggled by two Maldivian nationals arriving from Thailand on December 26. The drugs, concealed within their bodies, have an estimated street value of MVR 5.5 million. Both individuals, aged 41 and 21, along with the seized substances, have been handed over to the Maldives Police Service for further investigation.
