The Maldives achieved a historic milestone in 2024 by welcoming over two million tourists, a 9% increase from 2023, with China, Russia, and Europe among the top source markets. Building on this success, the Government aims for a 15% rise in tourist arrivals in 2025, supported by innovative campaigns like the MMPRC’s “The World’s Biggest Giveaway” and expanded connectivity through Maldivian’s wide-body Airbus A330 operations. These efforts are expected to enhance global accessibility, attract more visitors, and boost tourism revenue to USD 5 billion.
