Maldives Immigration has investigated 1,061 cases since launching its online reporting platform, Immigration Watch, in July 2024, with the majority linked to illegal trade activities by migrant labourers. Efforts include targeted operations by a dedicated task force to address undocumented migrants and ensure compliance with immigration regulations. The Government is prioritising this issue by expanding operations beyond Malé and collecting comprehensive data on expatriates across the Maldives.
