Velana International Airport has expanded its cargo operations with Afcom Cargo's launch of scheduled charter services, beginning with a successful 20-tonne cargo delivery from Chennai. The company will initially operate three weekly flights, working through Etihad Airways' network, with plans to establish additional interline agreements with major carriers. The expansion marks a strategic milestone for MACL in strengthening the Maldives' position in international trade whilst maintaining rigorous safety standards.
