President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the importance of recent constitutional amendments passed by the People’s Majlis, aimed at protecting national sovereignty and citizens' rights. The reforms include stronger safeguards for territorial integrity, clearer maritime boundaries, and the requirement of parliamentary approval for any foreign military presence. Additionally, the changes strengthen democratic accountability, with new responsibilities for the President, including the creation of national development plans.
