Maldives has won its first-ever 'World's Leading Green Destination Award' at the 2024 World Travel Awards. Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal accepted the award and credited the achievement to collective industry efforts in promoting environmental sustainability. Several other countries were nominated including Chile, Norway, and Peru.
