The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) plans to introduce a seaplane service at Hanimaadhoo International Airport as part of a broader initiative to manage regional airports. The ongoing airport development, including a 2,465-metre runway, is slated for completion by February 2025, enabling larger aircraft to handle up to 1.3 million passengers annually. With an investment of USD 136.6 million, this project is expected to drive economic growth in the surrounding atolls and pave the way for an international airport.
