The Maldives Parliament approved a MVR 56.6 billion budget for 2025, with 70 members voting in favour. It allocates MVR 49.2 billion for expenses, including MVR 12.4 billion for the Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP). A projected fiscal deficit of MVR 9.4 billion, the lowest in recent years, is complemented by revenue measures and cost-cutting strategies, while quarterly progress reporting and project transparency were mandated by the Budget Committee.
