The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) held a Minecraft-inspired float parade in Hulhumale' to celebrate the Maldives’ 60th Independence Day, drawing significant appreciation from the public. Due to the positive response, the floats will be displayed again today.

Originally scheduled for the night of 28 July, the second event was postponed due to adverse weather. HDC later confirmed that the floats would instead be on display today, with public viewings set from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm and again from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The display is taking place at The Center Park in Hulhumale', showcasing floats designed by HDC staff to represent various landmarks and scenes from the island. The floats were completed within two weeks and were entirely developed by HDC employees.

HDC noted that the float parade was first held on 26 July and received a strong response from the public. The Minecraft-inspired designs were intended to appeal to younger audiences and attracted particular interest from children.
