Minister of Economic Development, Transport and Trade Mohamed Saeed has said concerns raised over the Taxi Nafaa loan scheme will be reviewed with fairness, following a letter circulated on social media highlighting challenges faced by borrowers.

Responding to the letter, Minister Saeed said identifying prompt solutions and determining the most appropriate way forward remains among his key responsibilities. He added that officials responsible for transport matters have been instructed to review all issues raised and ensure the matter receives the necessary attention.

The letter outlined concerns over borrowers being required to repay loans for taxis that have yet to be registered, preventing them from operating the vehicles and earning an income. It also included a request for a meeting with the Minister to discuss the issue further.

Minister Saeed said the Government’s priority is to serve the public effectively and respond to concerns in a timely manner. He assured that listening to public concerns and addressing them within the framework of existing laws and regulations remains a key focus of the current Administration.
