Huawei Technologies has officially launched its flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, Seeds for the Future 2025, in the Maldives. Four students have been chosen to join a prestigious technology and cultural exchange in China.
The programme was inaugurated during a ceremony held on Monday in Malé, attended by dignitaries including Dr. Ali Haidar Ahmed, Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development; Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, H.E. Kong Xianhua; and Huawei’s Country Director in Malé, Chen Keyang.
Seeds for the Future is a global educational programme by Huawei aimed at nurturing young talent in information and communications technology (ICT). It provides students with exposure to cutting-edge technologies, fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, and promotes cultural exchange through immersive experiences in China.
This year, four Maldivian students were selected following a rigorous application process: Zayan Abdulla Nazil and Yoosuf Ayaan Musthaq from Villa College, Iyan Azeez from Maldives National University, and Afaa Ismail from Zikura International College.
The participants will travel to China for intensive training in advanced technical skills and industry knowledge. The programme reflects Huawei’s commitment to developing future tech leaders and promoting international educational cooperation.
