A 17 year old boy has passed away following a motorcycle accident in Fuvahmulah City early Wednesday morning.

According to police, the accident occurred in Husnuheena Magu of Funaadu when the motorcycle crashed into a wall before hitting a street light. The incident was reported at 2:40 a.m.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment but passed away at 3:38 p.m.

Following the news of the boy’s passing, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu expressed his condolences on his official X account, saying he was deeply saddened to hear of the tragedy. He extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and offered prayers for the deceased, as well as strength and patience for the loved ones during this difficult time.
