Austrian Airlines has announced a temporary increase in flights to the Maldives during the first quarter of 2026, raising frequencies on the Vienna–Malé route from five to seven weekly services.

The additional flights will operate from 20 January to 9 February 2026, using the airline’s wide-body Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. According to Austrian Airlines, the decision reflects seasonal adjustments to meet demand for long-haul leisure travel during the peak winter holiday period.

Austrian Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, has long maintained a strong winter presence in the Maldives, one of the Indian Ocean’s most popular tourist destinations for European travellers.
