President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has approved the establishment of new health centres in six wards of Malé and across the atolls to provide primary healthcare and general practitioner services. This decision, made following a Cabinet meeting, aims to improve healthcare access in underserved areas, reduce waiting times, and meet the growing demand for primary care. The Ministry of Finance, Health, and Social and Family Development will collaborate to ensure the centres are operational by the end of the year, with expedited efforts in Malé and regional cities.
