Velana International Airport announced Virgin Atlantic as the 12th airline to join the Maldives' sea-to-air cargo transshipment operations, with its inaugural cargo uplift bound for the United States. The initiative, launched eight months ago, has already transported 1,000 tonnes of goods, generating over USD 3 million for the economy. This hybrid model, involving key stakeholders, enhances global logistics by combining sea and air transport, catering to businesses with a fast and cost-effective freight solution.
