The Male' City Group of Hospitals has announced plans to add 172 beds within three months as the first phase of the Government's ambitious 800-bed healthcare expansion initiative, with IGMH set to receive 75 new beds and Hulhumale' Hospital gaining additional emergency and general capacity. A significant component of the plan includes a new 100-bed hospital in Vilimale', with construction expected to begin mid-next year. The expansion programme, which aims to address the healthcare sector's critical bed shortage, represents President Dr Muizzu's fulfilment of his campaign promise to enhance the region's medical infrastructure.
